“Mistake” is an error caused by lack of attention, skill or knowledge. Mistake is when something is done as a result of not understanding. For example “I made a mistake as I was in a hurry.” Also, it depends on the feeling, how you take it? Whether you take it as a mistake or you take it as wrong. In the same situation, a patient may feel he made a mistake and another may feel he did a wrong. Example: One patient may say “Doctor you had said that I have to take medicine in morning, afternoon and evening; but I forgot and by mistake I took the evening dose at night”. This is ‘Mistake’. The other might say “I know doctor you had said to take the medicine at morning, afternoon and evening, and I know why I am not getting any relief. I took the medicine at night; it is because of me that the results are not there; because I did not follow your instructions.” This is ‘Wrong’. Error is deviation from accuracy or correctness. Error is caused when you get deviated or do not pay attention.
